The problem with reading in bed

Why you can't fall asleep.

Your phone emits blue light, and blue light suppresses melatonin — the hormone that makes you sleepy.

A study at Harvard found that reading on a screen before bed pushed people's body clock back by more than an hour. They fell asleep later. They woke up groggier. Then did it again the next night.

1hr+ How far a screen-lit evening shifts your body clock. Chang et al., PNAS, 2015

Which is why sleep researchers give the same advice every time: screens away, lights low, read something made of paper.

There's one problem with that. You still need light to read.

Bedside lamps flood the whole room. Clip-on lights wobble, slip off the cover, and throw a hot spot across half the page.

PageGlow is a flat panel that lies on the page itself. Warm light, only where the words are. Nothing spills onto the wall. Nothing reaches the other side of the bed.

Just you, the book, and sleep that actually arrives.

Not just another book light.

Flat panel design

Sits on the page. Can't wobble, can't fall off, can't shine in anyone's eyes.

Three books lit in cool white, natural white and warm amber

Three light temperatures

Warm amber for winding down. Natural white for reading. Cool white for focus. Stepless dimming in between.

Built-in timer

Set 15, 30 or 60 minutes. The light fades out on its own. You're already asleep.

Before you order

Questions people ask.

What exactly is PageGlow?

A flat, transparent LED panel that lies directly on the page. It lights only what you're reading. No clip, no arm, no wobble — just warm light on the page and darkness everywhere else.

Is it bright enough in a completely dark room?

Yes — that's exactly what it's built for. Three light temperatures with stepless dimming, so you can dial it from barely-there to full reading brightness.

Will it disturb my partner?

The light stays on the page. It's the only reading light that doesn't illuminate the room, which is the entire reason it exists.

Will it scratch or damage my books?

No. The panel is hardened transparent acrylic and rests lightly on the page. It won't mark or bend paperbacks or hardcovers.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 35 hours per charge — most people plug it in every two to three weeks. Recharges over USB-C in under three hours.

How does the timer work?

Set anywhere from 1 to 99 minutes and the light fades off on its own. Most people set 15 to 30 and are asleep before it ends.

How long does shipping take?

Orders leave within 1–3 business days and standard delivery runs 5–7 business days. Tracking arrives by email as soon as it ships.

What if I don't like it?

Full refund within 30 days. No questions, no hoops. Email support@pageglow.co and we'll take care of it.

    The glow is perfect

"I've tried clip-on book lights and they're all harsh white LEDs. But with this the amber tone actually makes you sleepy while you read. My eyes don't hurt and I drift off naturally."

    Better than any sleep supplement.

"I spent hundreds on melatonin, magnesium, sleep apps. A $20 reading light fixed what none of them could."

My wife bought a second one.
